The commander of Nato forces in Afghanistan will ask for 20,000 more international troops as part of his new strategic plan for the alliance's war against a resurgent Taliban. When will enough be enough? Will we never learn the solutions to Afghanistan do not lie in military force?
I continue to be distraught at the mess we are generating. For the amounts of money being spent on military force we could feed, house, educate, and medicate an entire population in a nation like Afghanistan. Continued pouring of funds into the black hole of military action is futile. We must change our course if we are ever to have any measure of "victory" in this quagmire.
Peace.

For that vote I am eternally grateful. There is no higher honor in my mind than that of a vote in the ballot box.
People voted for a dream and a change. We got a politician who may either not be the one we thought or is caught in a web of inside the Beltway political maneuvering that even he cannot escape. I continue to hope Obama is caught up for now and one day will emerge as the butterfly of change we all need.
Peace, Jerry
