Palin had to withdraw after organizers, fearful that the protest would become a partisan rally, rescinded her invitation. New York Senator Hillary Clinton had earlier withdrawn after it appeared that Palin would be there. But the Palin speech was released for one and all to read.
The entire speech is worth reading if for no reason other than to see the ongoing fearmongering of the McCain/Palin agenda.
Ahmadinejad may choose his words carefully, but underneath all of the rhetoric is an agenda that threatens all who seek a safer and freer world. We gather here today to highlight the Iranian dictator's intentions and to call for action to thwart him.
He must be stopped.
If we retreat without leaving a stable Iraq, Iran's nuclear ambitions will be bolstered. If Iran acquires nuclear weapons ? they could share them tomorrow with the terrorists they finance, arm, and train today. Iranian nuclear weapons would set off a dangerous regional nuclear arms race that would make all of us less safe. But Palin fails to mention the dangerous worldwide arms race led by the United States. How misguided can a person be these days?
President Ahmadinejad should be held accountable for inciting genocide, a crime under international law.And what about holding the Bush administration accountable for the torture and general mistreatment of hundreds of detainees?
Why are we not discussing our own nation's behavior? We as a nation are in no position to condemn the actions of any other today. We have lost the moral high ground in recent years.
Peace.

Read the entire speech at your discretion. The words wander on in the usual sort of Republican talk that incites the nation today. There is little of real substance, but lots of rhetoric.
Peace.
