Pentagon Grasping for Straws Again

Yesterday the Pentagon declared a successful test of their star wars (anti-missile) weapon system. This is the first real success for the system if one fails to look closely at the conditions of the test. The attack missile failed to deploy any deceptive systems. The test works only for the most simple of ballistic missiles such as those owned by North Korea.
The Defense Department wants to spend about $50 billion over the next five years on missile defense. The Pentagon this year requested $10.5 billion, although Congress has cut nearly $500 million from the request.
And for our hard earned money we get a system that has failed almost every test and is admitted not to work against sophisticated weaponry systems deployed by China and Russia.

Peace.

Let us all hope the Obama administration has more sense than to pursue this course any further.
