Give the American Worker a Break

Rick Kepler writes yesterday in a Truthout editorial about the plight of the American worker and the desire by all to share in the wealth of our nation.
I am an American worker, and you are damn right I want the wealth to be shared and spread.
Kepler is one angry man but what he says is correct.
The American worker, whether black, brown, white, red, yellow, or rainbow color, has been fleeced over these past eight years.
Health insurance and other benefits have been reduced over the course of time. Wages have not kept pace with inflation. The spread between the rich and the poor is the greatest we have seen in America since the late 1920's.

Like Kepler I support a government that acts to support workers as part of an entire nation.
The American worker doesn't want a handout. Never did. We do want a hand up from our government.
Policies that protect jobs and allow workers to seek adequate wages and safe working conditions are important. We need a return to laws that allow a level playing field. For the last eight years all has been about enriching the powerful and already rich. We as a nation cannot afford that course if we wish to have a nation for the future.

Peace.
