2008 American Losses

2008 closed as another year of great loss for American troops. In a year that saw the smallest number of American casualties in Iraq since the original invasion another 314 died bringing the total dead by that time to 4221.

The same year, 2008, saw a record number of American deaths in Afghanistan with 151 fallen.
Roadside bombings doubled. The Taliban’s influence has spread and the attacks are increasingly bold.
In both nations uncounted thousands of locals, men, women, and children, are dead. How many more must die?

Peace.

Let us all hope we find ways to resolve both Iraq and Afghanistan in the coming year. Recent years' losses are mounting and becoming a burden our nation cannot long sustain.

Peace.
