Today's News Journal has a story about the Delaware Republicans and their effusive praise for ex-President George W. Bush. Supporters continue to praise the failed No Child Left Behind, an AIDS program in Africa that pushes abstinence and treatment but refuses to fund condoms or sex education, and the failed immigration policies of the administration. If those are to be counted as successes then my definition of failure is lost.
The same apologists continue to point to the fact we have no terrorist attacks on our own soil since 9/11. But what about the thousands of dead and wounded in Iraq? The Iraqis had nothing to do with Osama Bin Lader or Al Qaeda before we invaded. Now the nation is destroyed and many of our troops are lost forever. That our nation has suffered only one terrorist attack of the magnitude of 9/11 is forgotten in the race to keep Bush away from his rightful place as the very worst President ever.
We humans always try to justify our failed actions by finding the silver lining in the cloud, but looking to justify much of the failed Bush administration is one more failure. We need to face the past and move on into the future. Twisting the history of the past will do no one any good at all.
Peace.

Ignoring reality and creating their own truth is a Bushco hallmark. Those folk are delusional.
